January 1st Reset: Starting From Zero (Again)
Today is January 1st, and I’m fully leaning into that fresh start feeling.
This morning I did something that felt a little scary… but also incredibly freeing.
I delisted everything on Depop, eBay, and Vinted.
No half-finished drafts.
No old listings hanging around.
No “I’ll sort that later”
Just a proper reset.
A Fresh Start for My Reselling Journey
Before I go any further, I want to be really clear.
I do have stock.
I have clothes ready to sell.
What I don’t have right now is anything listed.
Everything is currently delisted so I can start again properly, with intention.
For 2026, I’m committing to:
- Posting daily across Depop, eBay & Vinted
- Treating reselling like a real side hustle, not something I dip in and out of
- Tracking what works, what doesn’t, and being honest about both
Right now, I’m starting from a reset point and honestly, that feels like a good thing.

Restarting Investing With £75 Christmas Money
Alongside reselling, I’m also restarting my investing journey in 2026.
Again, from zero.
I’m starting with £75 of Christmas money and keeping things intentionally simple. No chasing trends, no complicated strategies, just rebuilding the habit and letting time do its thing.
I’m investing through Trading 212, which I’ve used before and feel comfortable with. This time around, I’ve set things up properly using three clear investing pies, each with a specific purpose.
Once they’re set, the plan is simple: contribute regularly and don’t tinker.
My 3 Pie Investing Setup for 2026
🧱 Pie 1: UK Dividend Core
Purpose: Long-term income, stability, and compounding
Rule: One pie, auto-invest on, no tinkering
This is my foundation pie, boring in the best way. It’s focused on established UK companies across different sectors that pay reliable dividends.
Energy (10%)
- BP – 5%
- Shell – 5%
Utilities & Infrastructure (20%)
- National Grid – 6%
- SSE – 5%
- United Utilities – 5%
- Greencoat UK Wind – 4%
Financials (25%)
- Aviva – 6%
- Legal & General – 6%
- Lloyds Banking Group – 5%
- HSBC – 4%
- Phoenix Group – 4%
Consumer Staples (20%)
- Unilever – 6%
- Tesco – 5%
- Associated British Foods – 4%
- Reckitt Benckiser – 5%
Healthcare (10%)
- AstraZeneca – 6%
- GSK – 4%
Tobacco (5%)
- British American Tobacco – 5%
Defence (5%)
- BAE Systems – 5%
Mining (5%)
- Rio Tinto – 5%
Total: 100%
This pie is very much a set-and-forget one. The goal is steady income over time not excitement.
🏢 Pie 2: Property Income
Purpose: Monthly dividends and diversification
This pie is intentionally simple.
- Realty Income – 100%
I like this one because it pays monthly dividends, which really suits my mindset right now. Seeing something come in regularly helps keep me engaged while I’m rebuilding.
Yes it’s one holding. That’s on purpose.
📈 Pie 3: Global Growth
Purpose: Long-term growth, tech exposure, global balance
- Vanguard S&P 500 ETF – 100%
This is my growth engine. It gives me exposure to large US companies without having to pick individual stocks. Simple, diversified, and very hands-off.
How I’m Approaching Investing This Time
This isn’t about quick wins or big numbers.
It’s about:
- Starting even when things feel messy
- Being okay with small numbers
- Showing up consistently, even quietly
- Letting progress build naturally
Even £5 or £10 counts. Consistency matters more than speed.
Trading 212 Referral (Being Transparent)
I currently have a Trading 212 referral link.
If you sign up using it and:
- Deposit £5 or more
- Do this three times
You’ll receive £25 cash, and so will I.
There’s absolutely no pressure. I’ll always be honest about what I use and why. I’ll also be sharing updates openly as I go.
My 2026 Mindset
This year isn’t about perfection.
It’s about:
- Starting even when things feel messy
- Being okay with small numbers
- Showing up daily, even quietly
- Letting progress build naturally
Right now, I don’t have everything figured out but I do have a plan, a reset, and the motivation to stick with it.
And honestly? That feels like more than enough to begin.
If you’re also starting over with money, routines, motivation, or confidence, you’re not behind. You’re just at the beginning 🤍
I’ll be sharing daily reselling updates and monthly investing check-ins, so feel free to follow along.
Here’s to fresh starts ✨
